So I thought I would share a quick post today about the party I planned for my daughters.

Each got to invite a couple of friends and we did this quick little party that would be fun for anyone that wants to do a last minute theme party right before halloween.

The second batch I did turned out much better. Because I wasn’t trying to decorate and put out last minute munchies. I was just standing there stirring and watching it for a full 35 minutes like I was suppose to the first time. Lucky for me the 10 year olds didn’t notice and the adults that came later got the second batch! Yeah me! :)

Most of the other foods listed in the post here can be found on the Pinterest site link to the right. The mummy dogs, and witch hat tutorials are found on my “halloween board” of course.

Just sharing a few cards that are now available at the Paper Moon. I created some sympathy cards for them. This is some older Kimberly Poloson paper that I had. I love to use this paper! I don’t know what I am going to do when I run out!

The paper is amazing, the argyle, dots and the gray moths, are raised and textured with a felt! The card “feels” pretty and soft! I decided to use my butterfly punch by Martha to cut the little butterflies instead of hand cutting the moths out like I did in the first one.

I used little square pop dots on the wings of the big butterfly to “prop his wings up so that they don’t get smushed in the envelope. I used a variety of edgers on these from Fiskars, EK and Martha Stewart. And my newest die from Stampin Up! LOVE THIS! It already has the stitching done for you~
The heavy colors were depressing me so I had to make something to counter them. :)

This is what it ended up looking like.

Used Stampin Up! die cut, stamp and embossing folder. All my new favorite things on this one.

More Bewitching Projects

So When I visited with Laura at the Paper Moon

about the full size boots in my previous post she said she would like to have some traditional square cards to offer as well but along the same theme. So I came up with a few boots and shown here.

I decided to get my hat out and play with it. So I came up with a couple more cards. This little Studio G stamp from Michaels was perfect to go with the hat I thought!

Finally to come up with an appropriate Thank You card for Laura.

I am so excited to start on this new magical adventure at the Paper Moon. So here is the plan starting with the Fall calendar as my start date! This is a new year of Eye Candy! I will get pictures of the super cute store next time I am in.

I AM OVER THE MOON!!

On my broom with my best witch boots on!! Over to the Paper Moon that is!

I stopped by this amazing store on Friday with a couple of my samples to show to the lovely owner Laura. To my delight she liked them and she ordered a dozen! I am so excited to be added to the list of artists that have the opportunity to sell locally at her store!

If you haven’t been by the store you should go! Cutest things ever!

I will probably end up just leaving my check there whenever I do get paid! Haha.

So here are the shoes. I took liberty with all of them and each one is a unique and different design. It was a fun project.

Now to make some more cards that she would like to have in stock.

I know...

I needed one more thing to do huh? :)

Originally I was making these for invitations to a crafty witch caldron party. They are probably going to get an Evite now since I am going to run out of time to make more! Haha

So for my crafty friends with Cricuts that want to know the 411. They are from the Happy Hauntings Cartridge. I found this cute tutorial that added the lacing to the front that the Cricut cut doesn’t include at the Crafty Spot. I was having a time figuring out how to make them free standing so this is the solution that I finally came up with. I cut the shoe from plain green cardstock. You can get four cuts per 12x12 sheet which is the inside of the card. Then all your lacing and ends are hidden by gluing your fancy paper end piece on top of the plain cardstock card. And to attach them to each other I simple cut a piece of scrap cardstock used a decorative punch on one side and scored it and attached it at the top like this!

I also cut the bottom part of the top cut off from the lacing edge and ran the Black Magic Cardstock through the Cuttlebug with different embossing templates for each. Then sanded them lightly to make the core color come through.

Just thought I would share a quick post about my latest layout. I made a page for Doodlebug’s design team. I have no great hope that I will get on but of all the paper lines on earth that make me happy DoodleBug is one of my favorites. With 3 girls and all the happy color that line represents it just fits my life.

So here’s to trying and since I am finally in a nice new house with some space to scrap again I am hoping that it will inspire me to continue to work on projects that have been put on the back burner for the last 5 years!

May flowers! Finally...

Well the sun is actually shining now and has been for two days in a row!! Woohoo!

I am celebrating today with some scrapbook supplies but

not in the way you would think.

I have a little story before we start with the supplies to lead in..

I saw this super cute tank top at Walmartthe other day and I had to have it! ( yes, one of many confessions in this post. I do occasionally buy clothing at Wally world) As I am putting it on this morning I am thinking... “Hey, I have some Prima flowers that would match perfectly with this top!"

This is were the story starts. There was a day, not to long ago, that I worried all the time about what everyone was thinking of me. Especially as I have gotten to that age over 40 were all those rules used to apply or so people thought they did. You know the ones...

Women of a certain age should wear their hair short, blah, blah blah. You all know the list spoken and unspoken that we somehow fall spell to now and again. I am sure one of those rules would be that women of a certain age should not wear flowers in their hair.

This is the beauty of women of a certain age that I am finally privy to understand.

Women of a certain age really could care less about what you think of them!

It is a freedom like no other I have experienced!!

So remember that! You twenty something hard body brats!

When you are the beach this summer and some old broad comes out wearing something you feel is totally not appropriate for her age and that it is something you would wear and how dare she, just remember... You too someday will have this understanding. :)

Okay, so enough of this nonesense, where is the scrapping!

Tea Time for Tweens

I almost missed my op!

Finally the teacup collection was unboxed this year after 5 years of being lost in the abiss called the garage/storage of our long time rental home. The teacup collection is an amazing collection of heritage quality cups that once belonged to Scott’s great aunt Dorothy. Sadly Dorothy was too ill by the time we got them to pass down the story that must be attached to each beautiful cup.

Each of the older girls have had “THE" tea party in their 2nd or 3rd grade year and I have scrapbooked the event intensely.

Hence the youngest has been giving me grief beyond

comprehension about being left out of this tradition. Much to her relief I came up with some cute invitations for her to deliver last week and told her we were finally unpacked enough and ready for the big day.

Typically I have always hosted them around St. Patty’s Day. It just seemed appropriate for the cute little imps that they are at this age.

Part of the tradition is everyone getting to pick their own teacup. I had them all pick a number and they chose in order the cup they liked best. You can see half of the collection in this before picture back on the corner shelf.

So the table was set and we were ready to go.

We convinced the middle girl to stay and help serve tea. All was well till she decided to get cheeky and say that she just saw as “sexy boy” walk by outside!!! The OLD Maid at this point dismissed from her from her duties as “lady in waiting” and took over serving and picture taking all at once.

Dang teenagers!! :(

I hope none of those cute little 9 year olds went home to ask their parents what “sexy boy” might look like or would have to do with a tea party!! :0

Here is the group of them having a great time. Six of the group of eight was too embarrased to wear a dress all day and had to change once they was here.

See what I mean, I almost missed it!

Amazing how the innocence and nonchalance of this age disappears so quickly when they hit the tween stage. :(

Do you think Lauren was one to wear the dress all day? ;)So for now I have proof that they can and did have fun while in dresses doing something girly.

That I will always be proud of. :)

They enjoyed the finger sandwiches of cucumber and cheese and mini cupcakes and where told the story of how high tea came to be such a tradition in England. They actually listened and enjoyed the story more than my second grade subjects did. So maybe it was good to have had to wait. Not that the story of tea is such and important thing in the grand scheme of things but random information such as this may some day be helpful...

Their parting gift included some little bags made from my Cricut along with a scroll with a cute little Irish Blessing on each one. Along with some sweets in the bag.

(Because the 1/4cup of sugar that they each dispensed into their tea cups was not enough)
And the timing could not have been more perfect, for as all the parents were on their way to pick up their little princesses the snow started falling! (or coming in sideways, if you were upright). Two days before the calendar says “First Day of Spring” and the day as the first of our indoor seedlings are sprouting.

Snow day and I am not liking it!

Well my new years resolution was to get to this scrappy blog of mine at least once a month with something scrapworthy. So it is snowing miserably outside the gym has been closed and I am surprised we only ended up with a two hour delay instead of a snow day. So what better way to spend a blusterly morning than keeping a resolution.

So in rebellion to what is going on outside my living room window right now I am posting a happy springy card set that I made a while back! I love the whole set and they have been hard to part with slowly as I have been using them as needed.

Inspired by the one and only Jennifer McQuire. I saw something similar to these a while back on her blog and thought I would make my own rendition.

Here’s to hoping they warm you up on this lovely snowy day. :)

So here is the sketch I received.

It was refreshing in a few ways.

#1 - It is the first page I have had the motivation to scrap in over a year!! yikes!

#2 - It made me even more motivated to stick with my new year's resolution of continuing with the gym that I LOVE with all my heart!! Thank you DDAC!

#3 - And finally had a fun/unexpected way to use my ice cream sunday paper from Heidi Grace that I bought at County Purr Farm well over a year ago! :p

Bling Maiden

I found this incredible stamp a few months back and made a selection of cards for my clients.

I used patterned paper from the Memory box collection that I pick up at County Purr Farms.

Love Donna Jean's style. Used some old Prima's and Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist.

I used my general's watercolor pencils for the hair color, stamped image with Versafine black and heat embossed with clear.

I thought this was the perfect stamp for a hairdresser.

Happy Hump day everyone! Just sharing a quick post for the latest card contest. I am loving my new distressing inks from Ranger. I used it on the blue spot behind the flowers on this one.

Happy St Patty's Day!

So we had our traditional corned beef and cabbage last night since I will be at the Coconut Bowl tonight shaving heads for St. Baldricks. Drop by and donate and I will buy you a green beer! ;) Registrations begins at 5:30 and the event goes till 8:00pm! Hope to see you there!

Just thought I would share a couple of pictures this a.m. This year at school a bunch of Lauren’s friends have been talking about the leprechaun traps that they have built to try and catch the leprechauns that are going to come to their houses and wreak havoc on the household. So Lauren came up with this idea on her own and the only part of her project that I was allowed to do was spray painting the shoe box. She went to town decorating a rainbow and fixing up the inside with a little bed so he would be comfortable once he was caught and various candy that he could munch on during the night to keep him content.

I tried to convince her that he was not going to be happy or comfortable regardless of the amount of candy or creature comforts we provided but she didn’t care. She had to try. So ….

Last night late in the eve the little green clothed man showed up and did he ever wreak havoc in our house!
He hide her brush in the frig, colored our milk green and switched her cereal with oats! He must be thinking that will keep her from trying to trick him again next year. Do you think it will work?
I am thinking not. She is one persistent little imp herself. ;)

Page Map Card post

I am totally getting my craft on this weekend. I have a bunch of other cards to share tomorrow.

Fun weekend of crafting, stamping and bringing out old supplies I haven't had time to play with in forever. Very therapeutic actually.

Supplies list Jillibean Soup paper, Fiskars apron punch and scallop punch and scallop stamp. The stamp on the green cardstock is an old Fancy Pants clear acrylic stamp from their 12x12 sheets. Ranger inks for the distressing, Sizzix Swiss dot embossing folder and the owl is my own design.

Have a great Friday night all! I am off with my cute little teenager to have a cactus blossom and a salad tonight then a movie maybe. It's girl time! ;)

Favorite CHA findings

So I have to say besides the Gluefoil my most favorite things from CHA are as follows in no particular order...

I love the little board books that CT publishing is making (first image shown)

I also love the way the new Sakura embossing Glaze pens worked with and adhered to the metals from the Gluefoil to create these cool effects with the metals on a wood bracelet blank.

My other pick would be the Scrapfx.com company. They had the most amazing display of whimsical glitter wearing winged things that made my heart just want to stop~!! It was truly an amazing booth!! I wish I had had my camera with me during my too short lunch break to take some pictures to show you. Anyhow if you are into chipboard and altered art you will love their stuff. Check it out here!!

this is one of their amazing images. The dragonflies and fairies and all the other winged creatures that they were creating were equally whimsical and ethereal. I loved their display! They are from Australia and it does take longer to ship so keep that in mind.

Lst but not least is a small company with a nice niche. PDQ or bisous zoo she has some amazing art that I was so struck by! I need to buy some even if my local scrap store is not going to get it in. Her art is so whimsical and colorful. Just my style.

i realize I didn't get out of the booth much to bring you all the updates that you can get from other sites but I just thought I would include the few that worked for me here.

Getting ready for CHA!!

Yeah! I am so excited to get the opportunity to work for Streuter Technologies again!
CHA = (Craft and Hobby Association) Tradeshow. for my non-crafting friends. ;)I will be in the Glue Foil booth, working with the fun Foil and Glue Film they have.
I shared one of my projects I did last time I visited my lonely blog and here are a couple of other projects I created with the film. I think my favorite aspect of this product is that you can glue down extraordinarily intricate designs with the press of an iron. That and the fact you can adhere it to the back of your card stock or patterned paper before using your cutting tools on it with no sticky residue on your tools.
On this card, I added the glue film to the back of the white cardstock, let it cool and then cut out the angel on my Cricut. Then to adhere it to the ornament chipboard piece I simply put my iron down on it and it was stuck! No gluing in fifty million places trying to get adhesion! Yeah!

On this card I simply put the glue film right on the cutting mat of the Cricut, cut out the trees and then placed them on the acetate card, sprinkled with glitter and then warmed the acetate from underneath with my iron. Because the gluefilm melts at such a low temp (115 degrees - silk setting on your iron) you can use it on acetate and ribbon and chiffon and other materials without worries of melting or burning your materials.
When I showed this product last year to the quilt makers at the CHA they went crazy! I guess a lot of people are making quilts that are to be hung only and not for snuggling under??? Who knew?
Anyhow, the possibilities are endless.
I just thought the other day I need to talk to Bart about making little beads of this stuff for doing hair extensions! How cool would that be?
My brain is reeling with ideas and artistic coiffures for that.
So If I come back from CHA with dreadlocks and beads attached to my head don't be surprised Reno! :)

Fall Splendor!

Finally sharing my Glue film projects that I mentioned here last year.

Okay, I realize it is snowing around most of the states now so I am a little late on the post but I wanted to share this scrapbook page and some info about this cool product , and Glue Foil

So here is a little project I made for the demos I have done around town at some of the scrapbook stores.

These are pictures from our trip to Apple Hill last fall. The vineyards were breathtaking!

I created this layout using the Glue Foil to accent some of the leaves at the bottom of the page to add some shine to them. The nice thing about the foil is that it is not sticky until you heat it up and then as soon as it cools it is no longer sticky again. This makes it a perfect medium for using your punches and other tools that you would worry about getting gummed up using some other products. Secondly the Glue Film was added to the back of the velvet paper. I heated it up and applied to the back of the velvet paper and then once it cooled I ran it through the Cricut machine and cut out my letters for the title and the tree at the bottom of the page. Then I simply ironed it all into place. I can't say enough good about this adhesive. I uploaded a step by step video that I made that will hopefully make it easier to understand the instructions above. Check it out at the bottom of the post. I have a couple of other project I will share that I did using it soon. So if you are like me an just getting around to scrapping your fall foliage look for some glue foil to add some spark to your pages. :)

BG newsletter!

I was having a lucky day a couple of weeks ago while on Facebook and Kelly Goree posted that she was looking for a couple of people that would be willing to do a layout for the Basic Grey December newsletter! I jumped right on and was happily creating with my newly purchased Eskimo Kiss paper later that day. It was fun to work with her sketch. It was just the push I needed to do something creative. I have since finished a couple of projects that I will be sharing here in the next couple of weeks.

Turkey Day and Bodega Bay

Well we made it out of town in the motorhome for one more trip before winterizing it. We landed in Bodega Bay and had an awesome couple of days playing by the ocean. The got there on Wednesday evening in the fog and rain and woke up Thursday morning on the bay to an awesome warm mist. Spent most of the day searching for and finally finding the beach and playing in the ocean. The girls, Zak and dad were all having a time chasing waves when dad thought he could avoid the run and just ride it out on a clump of kelp. Well it didn't work out too well for him. roflmao!!!

It was awesome! And he was of course a good sport about it especially when he was able to get Sam and Lauren equally wet. Makayla and I escaped the wrath with just a big wet salty hug.

The next day we rented a car and

explored the coast line north and the

n south to Point Reyes. Unfortunately, after hiking the 1/4 mile up the road in 50 mph wind to the light house all we could do was take a picture from above. :(

When the wind it too high they close the walk way down to the light house due to wind gusts that can all the sudden swell.

It was a beautiful view though. And the girls loved the adventure of trying to hike against the wind without getting blown over. :)

Then we visited the bay were Lauren got to hold a real crab. Now she wants a hermit crab for Christmas. lol

Well that is update for my long neglected blog. I will have some fun scrappy related post for you next week. No guarantees beyond that though for blogging. There is just not enough hours in the day.

I can't believe Cropaddict has been around for 4 years! Wow! I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to hang with this site from it's conception and Debbie is so awesome to work with.
So I am hosting two spots this weekend. I hope if you get a chance you can pop over and play with us! Debbie has thousands of dollars worth of scrapbook supplies just cluttering up her place that she needs to get rid of. And you can win more than one game or challenge too! She is very generous!
I will be hosting the Saturday from 1pm - 3pm (EST) that is 11am -1pm for us west coast girls.
And again on Sunday from 11am - 1pm (EST) and again that is 8am -11am for PST.
But you don't have to come only when I am there. All the ladies there are super friendly and helpful. I will be in and out most of the weekend.
I hope to see some old and new friends there this weekend. You won't be sorry it is a great time!

Happy Valentines Day!

No heart shaped pancakes this year... No something much better. rofl :)This year the family was surprised/grossed out and possibly somewhat amazed at what they bellied up to this morning.

Biscuits and Pink tinted Gravy with champagne flutes full of Valentine mix of M&M's.

Well what can I say. Walmart was all out of Strawberries last night when I went to get everything so I was being creative as I could be under the circumstances.

The girls got used to it right away and Scott only had to close his eyes to eat the first couple of bites and then he was good with it. LOL

So since I didn't want to gross everyone out with pictures of the pink gravy I thought I would share some of one of my sweet Valentine girl. I caught her on the phone at first and then she finally complied to let me capture her new do since I was all geared up to photograph and no breakfast pictures to work with.

She decided a couple of weeks ago she needed to update her long straight blonde cowgirl DO with something a little edgy. So this is what we ended up with.

The colored strands are hair extensions that she can clip in and out and change the colors of according to what she is wearing. I convinced her that this was a better idea than permanently coloring her hair and allowing the damage and the fading that would go with it.

This way the color will always be bright and vibrant and crisp and she can change it up all the time and have more fun with it. ;) (Working the same angle of tattoos and piercings too. I hope it works!)

I have to end with a short story. So I go into Walmart Friday morning early to get cookies for the class parties of Makayla's and Lauren's and the lady at the check out rolls my eyes at me as she notices my rushed persona. "It is always something with kids! It never ends does it?" As I pondered her comment for just a few seconds I realized and said, "Yes, it does actually end. This is my middle daughter's last class Valentine party!" I think my comment took her back a bit as she expected me to agree and complain about this rushing around I am always doing for my children. But a funny thing has happened lately... It seems to be going by at warp speed lately.

And these pictures are just proof of that.

Back from CHA with some fun stuff!

So I got a call two days before CHA from my gf Angela telling me that her friend Rebecca was in a pinch with a designer that had an emergency come up and couldn't come work the booth, so I was able to change my schedule at work and jump in to play at the Streuter Booth for a few days! It was so much fun getting to play with this amazing new product for all that time, to catch up with all my fun crafty diva friends, and to party with Angela and Rebecca and the rest of the Fiskateers that were all hanging out in Anaheim.

So... I don't have a bunch of cool projects to share with the the GlueFoil or Gluefilm yet but I will soon. Especially since I am now the local rep for the company, and will be doing demos at all the stores in the area! Wooohoo! Fun job. I have a couple of photos to share thanks primarily to Angela! Thanks Ang!

On a party note...

Fiskars put on a fabulous Fiskateer Mocktail Party that was so stinking fun! The Doubletree patrons that were in the ajoining rooms where happy campers when 10pm came around I am sure! LOL The theme was Disco and the 70's.
I was lucky enough to get to help Rebecca out in her room which was the Diva Lounge, the purpose of the room was to come in and get diva-fied complete with face painting of glitter Fiskar scissors, hand painted by the licensed professional in the room... me! :)
The Fiskateers that showed up were all so surprised and amused with their over the top decorations and costumes. Cheryl definitely won the costume category.
I have to say that my sides are still aching from laughing so hard. Those Fiskateer leads are amazingly funny and witty. There was never a dull moment hanging with those girls. Thanks Fisk-a-girls and Fiskars for making the trip a very memorable event! :)

OMGOSH! It is so fun to make. I just wish there was an application that would allow you to make it for home use other than just facebook. Anyhow I just spent the last several hours making some flair for myself I thought I would share them with you here.

Eye Candy for the new year!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year. Scott and I went out to dinner at this amazing restaurant called Rapscallion. OMG! It was awesome! I can't believe we have lived here almost 3 years and finally made it there. I would say that it is the place to go if you like seafood but then again the bread, the wine, the salad the prime rib, okay the seafood was good too but honestly I don't think there was anything not to like. And the price was reasonable for the atmosphere. Especially considering the fact that the White Orchid at the Peppermill was $180 per plate for new Year's eve special! Our whole bill with the bottle of wine didn't come close to that for both of us! So go check it out if you haven't yet.

On a scrappy note...

I hope everyone's Christmas was as amazing and relaxing as ours were.

We had a very low key day. Sam and I were in our pajamas for most of the day. I did get a couple of cute pictures. Lauren's Christmas consisted of Curious George books and such, Makayla's was all about Twilight much to her great delight.
Samantha was the hardest one. Now being 16 and all she has her own taste on what is cool and acceptable as gifts. So gift cards from Tilly's, Zunies and money to get her the Ipod she has been dying for. More on that soon.

Anyhow we all had a great one. Hope yours was everything you were wishing for too! :)

I have to share a little story.

So my mom calls today to talk to everyone. Wish my oldest Happy Birthday as she is now 16! I am still in shock. We all take turns visting and my mom mentions, "oh yeah, did you know that Lauren has been calling a couple of times a week?" I had no idea of course. She has been sneaking the phone into her room and talking privately to Grandma for weeks now! LOL

Thank goodness Charter has free long distance! :O

So a little later she hears Scott and I talking about it and he asks if she has been calling her at work, home or her cell....

Fast forward to 30 minutes later.

I catch the little stinker on the phone again, with guess who?

I guess she didn't get the answer she had hoped for

Santa visit

Well for the first time in her memory Lauren actually got to see and sit with Santa face to face.

We always took the girls to see Santa when we lived in Alturas because it was easy and fast to run into Coast to Coast and pop them in for quick photo op and the yearly visit. Well for the last three years we have gone to the mall and looked at that line and just gave up. Lauren was having none of that this year. She really wanted and needed to see the man himself face to face. She was amazingly patient in the line that we waited in for almost an hour and a half! I had to send my big girls to run and get batteries for me for my camera because of all the amazing photo ops I had while in line with her and the oversized Christmas decorations and the fact that she spent over and hour getting herself all dolled up to see the big guy.

Is she happy or what.

As we were leaving I asked her if he was what she had expected. She said "No mommy! He was much warmer and softer than I thought!"

Makayla apeased her mother with a photo op of herself with Santa as long as her buddy Kirsten would do the same.

The girls were awesome for that long wait!

Looks like today is the day. We are putting up the tree Scott and I bought last night, decorating the house and I am starting my baking all to the new CD of Faith Hill's that I bought last night.
Well off to get busy with preparations!

I am lucky enough to have gotten involved with this amazing organization since I moved to Reno.

I have been elected their secretary. The Angel Kiss Foundation is dedicated to helping all families of children with cancer in northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra by providing immediate and continuing financial assistance and emotional support.

I think I have a permanent position with them making cards too. I designed these last night for a couple of the families that sadly lost the battle. :(

1 Make tag from cardstock. 2 Crumple tag and smooth out. Spray edges with color wash; let dry. Apply chalk. 3 Ink chipboard moon; let dry. Chalk edges and adhere. 4 Ink chipboard bat; let dry. Adhere with foam tape. 5 Print sentiment on cardstock; trim and tear edges. Chalk edges and adhere with foam tape. Attach brads. Attach ribbon with brad.

I am here to make you hungry today and to tempt you! With the holidays coming up and the brand new Paper Crafts PC Gourmet now available for pre-order I thought I would share some of the temptation. This looks like it is going to be another amazing publication for PC.
Love their magazines.Cheesy Garlic Drop Biscuits

This is a perfect recipe to pull out if you are short on time because there is no rolling or cutting. The cheese and garlic add extra kick to a plain biscuit, and kids love them. They are the perfect accompaniment to serve with soups or stews, and are great served with a salad.
INGREDIENTS
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 1/4 c. milk
Chives (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is fine. Add cheese and mix well. Add milk and stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Sprinkle top with chopped dried or fresh chives if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.

Hey all!

Just back from the Cropapolloza 2008 put on by Treasured Memories and County Purr Farm!

It was so much fun! I got to help Angela with her Fiskars classes.

Will work for tools! ;)

She had some great stuff for everyone in the classes on Saturday tons of product from Fiskars.

That was all day yesterday.

Today I just helped with her with the make-n-takes. She made cute little recycled style treats all in the spirit of her new favorite Halloween line by Heidi Grace.

So she had to dress the part of her favorite little witch in the line.

She is too cute this girl! ;)

We got to tell everyone about the all about the big Regional Fiskateer Event that she is putting on in November up in Virgina City! Wooohooo! Can't wait for that one!

Crop Addict Cyber Crop

Sitting around wondering what to do this weekend?
We are having a cyber crop over at Crop Addict!
You need to stop in and play! Debbie is very generous and there will be a ton of winners this round since we are going for it all weekend long!!
I will be kicking it off this weekend. We start at 6pm EST tonight! That is 3pm for those of us on the pacific coast.
My challenge is "Give me wings".
The requirments for this challenge are beyond simple!
All you need to do is have wings of some sort on your layout.
Butterflies, birds, angel wings you know! Anything at all.
Layouts can be 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 or 6 x 12. It can also be a project such as a minibook or album and al least 2 pages would need the wings on them for that. No cards please.
All layouts must be new never posted in the other galleries or blogs.

Hello all!
I am excited to share my new creations with you this month!
I came up with this canvas that is 16x20 for our motorhome wall that has been begging for wall art since we bought it 5 years ago.
Scott kept saying it needed a clock but I wanted something else. Hence the compromise!
I will go to Micheal's tomarrow and buy a clock fixture to go in the upper left hand corner there and it will be perfect.
What we were both looking for.

This layout is all about my colorful girls! LOL
They love using Sharpie in thier hair whenever I give in and allow it.
This was a concert that Sam was going to and of course her little sister had to be able to follow suit! LOL

This last layout makes me so happy! I love the paper and I love the sweet little niece that I made it for. I hope it makes her as happy as it does me!

Birthday weekend

It is the weekend for birthdays at the Kesslers!
First we celebrated with Makayla and a 2 of her friends and her sisters with a little bowling trip to the Grand Sierra. Had a blast there and a sleepover of course.
She loved all the littlest Pets she got!
She is still just a little girl at heart.
She also loved the videocamera she got from Mom and Dad. I have a feeling Youtube is going to be inundated with Littlest Pet drama! LOL
I will keep you posted when the episodes begin! ;)

Then we had a little impromptu family party for Lauren this morning on her actual birthday.
We will have the full blown version of a birthday party after school starts next week and she can invite all her little gfs here after school one day. She loved her Littlest Pets too and she was excited with her gift from Mom and Dad... Dance Lessons! I can't wait to start taking pictures of my little ballerina soon! :)

Thank you Grama and Grampa Fillmore for the money and Mike and Suzy!

Okay, I downloaded that cute kit from CK of Michelle Coleman's.

I love everything she has over there. Amazing digi stuff!

(sorry, i can't find the link for it at ck for you? they are messing with their beta site and everything is weird over there!)
So here is my first attempt at going digi.

It was kinda fun and only took an hour and that was because I was cheap and didn't want to go buy the stitching so I created it myself in Illustrator after 2 attempts to do it in Photoshop.

So all supplies are from the free kit with the exception of the stitching.

Well the new July Crop Addict kit is now in the store. Here are some of the layouts I did using this amazing kit. I have to say this is by far my most favorite kit every. The colors just make me happy. If I ever get a room to paint again I am going to copy this paper for the tahoe dream! The contrasting colors and the bright scheme just makes me beyond happy! Saloon Girls and Outlaws! OH my!
Guns and Whiskey! The Shame!

We had a great Father's Day this year! Mostly relaxing for Dad complete with his favorite meals for Breakfast (Biscuits and Gravy) and lunch was just a a quick sandwich. Made him his favorite oatmeal cookies and milk for a snack and then we headed up to Virginia City for a little nostalgia. He loves is up there. It is a sweet little historic town full of everything from the Bucket of Blood Saloon to the Suicide Table. (We believe in instilling good old fashion family values) .

We walked on the boardwalks took a tour of the old school and bought some old fashion candy. The gold panning was closed by the time we got there but we did manage to get Scott to sit still for what he considers the most hokey thing in the world and that would be posing as cowboys and salon girls for a one of a kind family picture the girls and I will love forever even if he hates it! LOL

Well I hope your day was as educational and wholesome as ours.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope everyone had a happy mother's day.
I certainly did. The girls gave me hugs and kisses first thing in bed with my coffee to wake me up. Then I got an awesome present that my mom and I are going to get a lot of use out of!
We got webcams! It will be so great for Lauren especially to see her grama while she is visiting with her! She and grama are great freinds and kindred spirits I think.

Anyhow then they took me to brunch and we went house hunting.
We toured a Mansion that has a mother-in-law suite that goes to auction on the 19th. I am sure we won't get it but it was fun to dream about having a house with some room again!

The girls and I have been crafting away and we have a big box to send to grama and grampa. They will get it sometime next week.

Mother's Day Early

I thought I would just post a little eyecandy and get off the subject of gloom, fires and earthquakes. I made this little mini album for a friend of my dd. She is adding more photos and some journaling to it to give to her mom for Mother's Day. I made her promise to write a lot and make her mom cry.

Used the April Crop Addict Kit to make it, some punches and some handmade paper piecing.
I won't have any new stuff to show this month from CA as I took May off because of the Angel Kiss Event. I really have my plate full this last month and most of next.

But hey! I am taking all day Saturday off to go play. National Scrapbook Day!! Wooohoooo! A great reason to farm the kids out and play all day.
I hope some of you will get to take advantage of the up and coming Mommy Excuse to Play day.

EARTHQUAKES!!!

Holy MOly!!
I am offically freaked out! I just rode out my first earthquake on Friday night!
It was bizzarre! Scott and I were just getting ready for bed and we thought we heard a BIG truck coming down the road and all the sudden the whole house started rocking!
The Associated Press is saying this:

Seismologists said the recent activity was unusual because the quakes started out small and had built in strength.
“A magnitude 6 quake wouldn’t be a scientific surprise,” said John Anderson, director of the seismological laboratory at the University of Nevada. “We certainly hope residents are taking the threat seriously.”
But Mr. Anderson said that there was no way to predict what would happen and that the sequence of quakes could end without a major one.

So Samie and I went to Winco yesterday and spent the day organizing and making room for all the extra stuff. We are going to go over an emergency plan with the kids tonight and talk about what to do in an earthquake.

I am even going so far as to put some of the collectables from Scott's parents into boxes so they won't fall off the entertainment center and get crushed if it does in deed happen.
I am thinking we should just go visit family in UT for a few weeks! LOLYeah! That's it! We will just run away! ;)

Art for Angels

I can't believe it has been a year already but it has! I am event coordinator for this fantastic event called Art for Angels. We totally strip the salon on Thursday night and all these artists come in and set up thier art and we have food and wine tasting and baby grand piano playing all night. It is such a classy event. I have so much fun with it. And the best part is that all the money we make goes to help a local foundation that helps families of children with cancer. The organization is called Angel Kiss Foundation.

Anyhow after a whole week of torturing my poor sister changing my mind and changing her graphics around we finally came up with this! I am so excited. I think this will be our enduring LOGO for all the events to follow.

Going Green

Well at least I am trying.
I had been packing some boring bags in the back of the Jeep to take in with me to the grocery store so that I could stop using plastic or paper. And of course I would always forget them and leave them in the car. Well then one day I was at our local store and spotted my gf Angela aka Spidergirl she was sporting a darling bag from Trader Joes and one that she had picked up from CHA from Little Yellow Bike that was all bright and colorful and I thought now I would remember to bring that bag in!
I love it!!! And it's scrappy! Thanks for the picture Ang!

So I went to the Women's Expo last weekend and everyone was sporting around these cute bags from Whole Foods that are coming to town soon and I had to do! Had to buy a bottle of wine to get the bag for free but hey! Twist my arm on that! LOL

So guess what?! I have actually remembered to bring my bags with me now all week! If I can find a picture of the cute bag that Ang had I will post it later but in the meantime I am on the hunt for some more colorful fun bags to keep reminding me to be Green! One step at a time right?

Don't die of shock! Two posts in Two days!! OMGOSH!!
I just had to write a quick note about how awesome my sweetie is!
He made an ebay purchase for me!
Yes anyone that knows him knows that he buys pretty much everything there.
Everything from motorhomes to cowboy boots there. LOL
Well I was the lucky recipient of his last purchase.
I mentioned casually after reading last month's CK that I loved this cute little bendable mini tripod. And low and behold he was listening!

Just a silly rainy day project!

My youngest did a project similar to this in Girl Scouts only they painted the rolls.

Anyhow I thought this paper would make fun colorful marackas!

So here is all you need to make these fun little marackas!

I thought the colors are perfect for Cinco De Mayo!

How can you resist a reason to use marackas

and drink margaritas! Gotta love those south

of the border traditions!! ;)

Somebody else may have tagged me in the past and I may have choose to ignore it at that time. My deepest apologies if I did in fact ignore a previous tag. I am all new to this blogging thing you know so I hope you will forgive.
In all honesty I would probably still be ignoring the tag if it were not 3am and I can't sleep!
I have been tossing for hours now so I thought better of it might as well get up and get that tag taken care of. Maybe it is unfinished business such as this that is keeping me awake! LOL
So the tag is 7 random facts.
This should be good considering the hour...
1. I hate it when I can't sleep and I want to!
2. I like the piece of cake that has the rose on it! Give me frosting!
3. I hate it when back pain gets the best of me and I have to start exercising again.
4. I love to hear my little girls giggling. (only not at night when they are suppose to be going to bed)
5. I hate it when I have to reconcile my check book every year.
6. I love catching kisses and hugs from my girls as they leave every morning for school.
7. I love (don't want to end with hate, i should have thought this post through a little more carefully) Anyhow I love it when my hubby kisses me on the neck.

I can't believe we are already loaded in the gallery at CA!

It looks amazing. One of my favorite things about

being on a kit DT is when the day comes to upload and you get to see what amazingly different projects and ideas everyone had using the same paper and products.

The girls have definetly outdone themselves again with this fun kit.

Happy Valentines!

I know I am posting almost a week late but better

late than never don't ya think?
I just had to share with you the fun little breakfast that I made for my family. Samantha was the most surprised as she gets up at 5:15am every weekday morning to catch the bus and was amazed to see me standing there when she got out of her shower with this spread waiting for her. :)

It was fun to see their reactions. Sam was a trooper. She wasn't sure about the berry compote on top but she ate it just the same. The little girls tried but they just couldn't choke it down. LOL

I ended up making them regular pancakes with maple syrup.

Scott loved it all and was very grateful for the change of pace. (Oatmeal). I had found little somethings for everyone. I bought him a CD called Trumpet Child by a group called Over the Rhine (thanks Virginia!) and a dvd. He loves the music. It is such an intresting CD with a bluesy, eclectic, Jazz, and old 20's feel to it. Check them out if you have never heard of them.

The girls just got some random candy and T-shirt or socks in thier little buckets.

This is the best part of being the mom. I love making the little holidays special by doing this kind of stuff.

I have decided this is my best revenge against the dreaded mundane household chores. Some day when these girls have families of thier own they are going to come to me and say,

Feburary Already?!

Holy Cow! Where has the month gone! It is hard to believe that we are already looking at Valentines Day. Well I don't have tons going on here at the moment. Other than worry time about my hubby who is in Tela Viv. The company he works for is based there and he is helping them write a program for something or another.

Anyhow it is just girl time here. We have been eating too much sugar and watching movies and doing facials! LOL

The little ones are outside making mommy a snowman. We got a TON of snow last night and I have been guilting them all day that no one has made me one yet this year. Well of course now it is getting dark and close to dinner and bath so "Let's do it now!" LOL

Delay tatics! My dds are THE BEST at them. So I guess the picture will have to wait till morning.

I did finish up some layouts using the Feb Crop Addict kit.

Snow Much Fun!

We are having the ultimate Family Day today. Dad decided to seize the day and took the girls for a ride. As you can see they had a fantastic time. Including the littlest kid of all Mr. Zack. He is such a character! He seriously thinks he is one of the kids.

A little later we are heading to the bowling alley and out to dinner. Then I am dragging them all to Home Depot to have Scott help me get the wood and supplies I need to make a much needed entry for all this winter stuff that is clogging my entry. The ski bibs and snowboots are taking over!

I'm an Official Fiskar Demonstrator!!

I had the opportunity last week to attend an employee crop at MaryAnn's Scrapbook Cottage where the infamous Spidergirl AKA Angela Daniels and Amy gave a wonderful class and showed us all the cool Fiskar tools and toys. Then we got to play with everything!

We had a great time and I love the presentation and the best thing of all is that I can now call myself an Official Fiskars Demonstrator.

If you haven't checked out thier blog it is a fun community to visit and play at.

How this will work into the grand scheme of things in my life I have yet to figure out. But hey in the mean time it is another cool title to add to my sb resume! LOL

Yes I am easily entertained.

Finally posting! I can't believe the holiday is finally over and things are still not back to normal.

The kids start back to school on Monday so hopefully things will feel more normal and settled by then.

The death of my thighs

I just had to write a quick note to Thank Mike and Suzy for the wonderful Christmas gift they sent us from the land of UT. I am in heaven!! Unfortunately I am the only one in this family of five that appreciates the finer things in life such as Carmel. I have just fallen in love with this box! As you can see it was my breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snack last night.

And they are proving to be a divine coffee compliment this morning as well. If you haven't tried VChocolates yet you are missing out! OMGosh! They are soft and chewy. some with nuts some with just chocolate. So anyhow if you are looking for a decadent gift for a carmel lover in your life for Valentines day or some other occasion coming up you will have to check them out.

As for Mike and Sue. I am holding you two personally responsible for the 10 lb weight gain I am sure to incur because of this! :<

But on the other hand. {huathaoniou} Oh sorry, mouth full of carmel there. I meant to say {Thank You!} :)

Makayla did her first horse show yesterday!

She entered in Maplewood's Winter Classic Show and she did awesome!

Woooohoooo Makayla! She recieved 2 first place ribbons a third place and a fourth place ribbon. She was sooooo proud of her little self. :)

I don't think i have ever seen this kid glow like I did yesterday.

Yeah! We were among the first kit clubs to receive and be able to work with their brand New Beloved Line.

Missing the Magic...

The magic was ever so swiftly taken from my sweet little Makayla yesterday night.

Friends have been talking and whispering for weeks about wether or not there is any such a thing as Santa Clause. Between her catching me doing the Tooth Fairy a couple of months ago and the talk at school she finally broke down and begged me straight out to tell her the truth. She knew the logic behind one being real and not another was not making sense to her.

Of course once I was cornered in the manner I had no choice but to tell her straight out. I felt it was a trust issue. Her dad just continued to dance around the subject until she gave up on him and came to me! (I will get even with him later!) :<

When I finally said the words it was like a slap to her face. I could see it and she instantly broke down bawling. My middle one RARELY has emotional outbursts of any kind (unlike her other two dramatic sisters). OMG! I thought my heart was going to break in half! We both sat up and cryed for about an hour.

Bless her little heart! She just sobbed and lamanted, "Why didn't I go to sleep that night!!" (refering to the Tooth Fairy insident)

She seems better today. And I was quick to point out the fun she will get to have helping me be Santa for Lauren. That perked her up a bit.

Tonight we go shopping and I can't wait to share a positive experience with her.

And we are going to be sure to help at the Mission this year to instill the real reason for the season as well.

But to herald the season one last time with an image of innocence I have to post this. At least I have one more in the house for Santa to visit! It is going by all to quickly! I don't want this to end! :(

Recycling is important!

I am offically doing my part to
save the enviroment! LOL
So here is my challenge for the Crop Addict site.
I have taken a paint can that Samantha was
given a couple of years ago with the "Spa night in a can"
title glued to it and I have changed it out. I is not the first time
I have stolen items from my children with the intentions
of"altering" it. But it is one of the first times I have
actually had an idea of what I might do with it
after I have altered it.
I have made this sweet thing with my nice
new neighbors in mind for Christmas. I thought I
would include hot cocoa mix for thier girls,

a couple of small card games that will fit

my famous cheesball, crackers,

a bottle of wine (oooooohhhh! Blue Nun would

be nice with this!) shoot they like merlot so I
guess I will buy a silver bag for the bottle.
And I was going to let the little girls help me decide
what else might go well inside.
Maybe some cinamon rolls ready to bake,
(your know the kind in the little cylinder) lol
hummmmmmmm.
i know I will think of many more yummy things to add

Oh yeah! Nan loves dark chocolate truffles so I need

to make a run to Costco.

I am sure there will be more to add.

An Attitude of Gratitude

It is that time of year when you have to just sit back and reflect and realize how grateful you are for all your are blessed with. Anyone that knows me will know what my first several answers will be.
My wonderful husband
My daughters
Living in the beautiful valley I was blessed enough to find a home for us and all our animals

I am also grateful for our family in UT. We miss them all so much. It has been a hardship throughout our marriage being so far from those that we could have been helped by so much at times. Especially while the children were very young and we needed a break now and then! LOL
But that was not in the cards for us.
What we have come to realize though is that has made us a stronger couple
more reliant on one another and a tighter family unit.
We hope that all of your plans for this holiday weekend include holding tight to the
ones you hold dear.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
Those that know me would also know my gratitude list would not be complete without including the last two things that I am grateful for on those nice long lazy days that I have time to enjoy the moments...

Just makes me happy!!

I worked for MaryAnn Saturday night at the Scrabook Cottage. She had to be out of town to be with a sick friend and I was more than happy to come and sit with a new group of ladies and thier private crop. :p

I love those because since I don't know anyone in the group I don't feel obligated to join in the conversations and I get some much more work done. I talk to much when I crop with ladies i know. lol

So all was well and fine (besides having to get a police escort to my car at midnight, whole other story there...) and I am scanning the back table with all the NEW stuff she hasn't had time to put out yet when there I see the stuff that just made my heart go "pitter-patter"!

OMG!! Pop Culture KI is totally amazing!

A lot of it reminds me of the old KI that I love and am actually still hoarding.

And then there was the new Elsie stuff.

This is what I ended up pairing it down to... It was a tough decision. It is all too kewl.

I told the teen that I might end up pulling together a teen class using this line for the SB cottage in Jan. It is just o fun. If you haven't see it in person yet you need to run, not walk to the your nearest lss. It is the stuff that makes you happy! ;)

Just thought I would upload my latest pages made from the Cropaddict November kit!

I am currently only getting 1/2 a kit and I have to tell you I have a ton of stuff I sitting here to finish. Here are the 2 layouts I was able to finish without agonizing over them! LOL

they just fell into place. The other 3 layouts are sitting here waiting for time to get them finished.

I am loving this Basic Grey lately. Everything they make is so amazing. And the paper peicing thing is back~ I am so happy about that! Love paper peicing!

If you are currently looking for a kit club and you want to be sure you getting your money's worth you really should look into CropAddict. You serioulsy get more paper and cool stuff than you can imagine.

Halloween...

Shameful as it is to say is my favorite holiday!
I love the opportunity to be someone else (in costume) for a day! Although I haven't actually dressed up that great in several years. Since I was single actually. I dressed as Elvira and even my own family didn't recognize me! LOL (sorry no pictures of that here today) ;)
It was one of those moments in life when you realize you really can completly change your mind and your life all at once if you want to. One of the more liberating moments in my life.
Anyhow I am sure my dear daughters were enjoying it as much this year as I was then even if the evening didn't prove to be life changing for them short of thier eating habits over the last week. I am soooo glad the chocolate and all the GOOD candy is out of the house! Now maybe I can get this extra 5 lbs i have put on in the last 2 weeks off. (i started early since I had to buy the candy the week before. you know?)

Here the two littlest ghouls are.

They were evil fairy and a devil.

Too cute to spook though.

I had a great time painting thier faces

and they loved the little thirft store sparkly

dresses that I found for them. $5 each and they are both considering wearing them to the Christmas

musical at the school, without the spiderweb wrap.

Another bargain at Walmart. 3 yard for $6.

so in all we did pretty well on the budget for this

holiday.

My oldest barely participated and dressed as a cowgirl.

Lots of tude about having to take the little ones around with her.

But she scored on the candy and in the end was happy, i think?

B-Day and the B Movie

43! Wow! Hard to believe! But it is true. I told the girl's we should just transpose those numbers for the rest of the year and I will just pretend to be 34. lol. I remember a day when even that sounded old! Yikes~
So the 2 littlest ones took it upon themselves to make me breakfast in bed.
I REALLY did try to get it down. The eggs were just a tad to runny but I did choke down the sausage. I was assuming that the very hard crunchy stuff on the sausage was egg shells or something but later discovered it to be plastic. As I was cleaning up the mess they left me I found this. ---------> Apparently they got the cast iron skillet a little too hot for the sausage and the they managed to melt the plastic into the food~~! Yikes!
I asked Scott if he thought our ingesting this plastic would hurt us and he assured me that it would probably just go straight to my thighs. What a wise guy~ pphhfft!

Anyhow besides my plastic coated breakfast I also recieved the most gorgeous PLUSH robe to lounge around in with my coffee in the morning. I can hardly wait for everyone to go to school tomarrow! I will be feeling so spoiled! AND my other amazing gift from my wise guy is a new camera!!! Yeah!! He is my hero forever! He went and got me a Canon Power Shot A560 7.1 pixels with the motion picture option that I wanted and a 4 GB memory card~~~ Rock on hubby! He is awesome!

To finish off the day the girls and I went to the movies and watched the Bee Movie~ Pretty cute movie I must say. A lot of humor that was over the girl's head but Sam and I got it. It was funny.

My little Lauren had to keep telling everyone in the line and consession stand that we were watching the B Movie on my B-day. We had a wonderful day in all.

The day before another birthday.

Here it is the day before I turn yet another year older and I ponder...
How fast my kids are growing up, how much easier they are getting (most days), how different my life is from just a year ago and mostly how many damn wrinkles I am getting around my eyes!! Holy Moly! Well I guess if one has to have wrinkles then the ones around the eyes from smiling too much are the ones to have. I should be glad I don't have that furrow in the middle of my brow from scowling right? Exactly!

My children delighted me today with their cuteness.
I popped into thier room to see what was keeping them so busy. They were making a candy kingdom! They had thier
Polly Pockets out and were building roads and buildings

using thier candy from Wed night.
What a brillant idea~
Their world is so precious and sweet.
Literally! LOL! They just wanted to make sure
it was as sweet for Polly too!
You gotta love that!

Dream? I totally speaks to me about when I was
a child and how my daughters are growing and
how they behave. "Feeding thier houseguests sparklies"
It is the sweetest thing ever. And I always tell them to
remember if they can dream it and believe it they can
acheive it. If I ever figure out the playlist thing it is on mine.
More to learn at this ripe old age!

So back to the birthday thing. I will keep the crowsfeet
and remember how many time those sweet girls make me
smile everyday.

Back tracking just a bit

This project is the reason in the first place that I thought it would be a great idea to start a blog. When MaryAnn said she was hosting a Crop for the Cure at the Scrapbook Cottage my mind immediately started racing with ideas of how I could help with her noble idea. Well if you know anything at all about me you would know that I own more pink stuff and girly stuff that one person could ever use in a lifetime! So I thought i could probably part with a portion of it and still be happy with what I had left.

Boy was I ever right. this is what I ended up purging...

I had purchased a pink blowdryer and flat iron from a company called CHI the best hands down professional hair styling tools made~ Anyhow the outside of the bag had the CHI label on it and I felt it needed a little more of a generic/scrap related exteiror hence the flowers donated by Deb and stamps of Rhonna's. Smudged one slightly as it was a soft back suitcase. Anyhow all in all I am quite happy with how it turned out

I also threw a haircut with a deep conditioning treatment at it from the salon and it ended up going to the highest bidder at the silent auction for about $110.

I will catch up on the rest of the fall events here shortly and hopefully get this blog up to speed.

I am going to be bugging all you girls about playlist loading and slide shows and galleries.
